The first thing i noticed about this movie is the way seven ( se7en) is written...the atmosphere is gloomy, dark and an unnamed city constantly inundated with rain...2 cops William Somerset(Morgan Freeman is brilliant as always) and David Mills (Brad Pitt ) are on the look out for a serial killer John Doe( a sinister and creepy looking Kevin Spacey ) who murders each of his victims according to the seven deadly sins i.e greed, wrath, lust, pride, gluttony, sloth and envy...
the way the killer kills each of his seven victims is very interesting...each murder has an interesting story(even though horrifying) and motive to it...the dead bodies are not a pretty sight to behold, one might even feel like vomiting...what i liked the most was that the killer was an intellectual and not the stereotypical type...he is well read...the scene where William visits the library and studies books like The Bible and mythological stories to interlink the murders is fascinating..but the climax later copied by the Tamil film starring Surya ( Kaaka Kaaka ) is guaranteed to send a shiver down anyone's spine..
Intelligent script...good acting...fabulous direction..thought inducing dialogues...this movie delves deep into the mindset of psychopaths...Mr. Fincher please make more movies like these rather than the bizarre and illogical trash called The Curious Case of Benjamin Button!!!
